Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

LYTE App, LLC, of One Riverway, Suite 900, Houston, TX 77056, is the data controller responsible for your personal information under this Privacy Policy. You can reach us at hello@asklyte.ai.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and any information you voluntarily provide.
  • Usage information: prompts, chat/interaction history with the AI, feature usage, and general analytics. Please note that your prompts and interactions with the Service may reveal or relate to religious beliefs, which may constitute special-category personal data under certain data-protection laws (e.g., GDPR Article 9). We process such data only with your explicit consent, provided when you voluntarily submit prompts on faith-related topics.
  • Device & technical information: device type, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type.
  • Payment information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers).

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Generate responses to your prompts in real time, using conversation context as needed to keep the AI’s replies relevant;
  • Maintain system security and prevent abuse;
  • Communicate with you about the Service, including updates and support;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing of Information

LYTE does not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, including:

  • Our cloud infrastructure and hosting provider;
  • The AI model provider(s) we use to generate responses to your prompts — specifically, user prompt text and necessary conversation context are sent to our AI model provider to generate responses. Our current AI model provider is Gloo, LLC. The provider processes this data solely to generate your response and does not use your prompts to train its models. Your prompts and chat history are encrypted at rest, and LYTE does not access, review, or analyze this content for its own purposes such as analytics or model training. A current list of sub-processors is available upon request by emailing hello@asklyte.ai.
  • Payment processors, including Stripe and Apple (for in-app purchases);
  • PostHog, our product analytics provider.

These providers are given access only to the information necessary to perform their services and are contractually required to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LYTE or others.

5. International Data Transfers

The Service is not currently available to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland (see our Terms of Service for details). Accordingly, we do not currently transfer personal information originating from these regions, and provisions such as Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and EU/UK Article 27 Representatives are not yet applicable. Before expanding the Service to these regions, we will implement appropriate international data transfer safeguards, appoint EU and UK Representatives as required under Article 27 of the GDPR and UK GDPR, and update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

6. Data Retention

Prompt and conversation history is stored in encrypted form and retained until you delete it. You may delete an individual conversation thread at any time, which is removed immediately; deleting your account immediately and permanently deletes all associated prompt and conversation history as well. LYTE does not access or analyze this encrypted content for service-improvement, analytics, or model-training purposes. We do not otherwise set a fixed time limit on retention of prompt and conversation history; retention is instead controlled by you through these deletion tools. Account information (name, email) is retained for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 8.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and understand usage. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies through a cookie banner shown on first visit, and you can change your preferences at any time from your account settings or the cookie banner itself.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Delete your information (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Export your information in a portable format;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (California and other US state residents);
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@asklyte.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 45 days for CCPA/CPRA requests, or as otherwise required by law). We may extend the response period by an additional 45 days under CCPA/CPRA (with notice to you), or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, where requests are complex or numerous. When you delete your account, all associated personal information and prompt/conversation history is immediately and permanently deleted. We retain a minimal record of the deletion event itself (a non-identifying account ID, the deletion date, and the deletion reason) for internal audit purposes; this record does not contain your name, email, prompts, or any other personal information.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided us with personal information should contact us at hello@asklyte.ai so we can delete it.

For users aged 13 to 17 (or below the applicable age of digital consent in their jurisdiction), we process personal data on the basis of parental or guardian consent. We apply additional safeguards to minors’ data: prompts and conversation history from minor users are not used to train or improve AI models, and are retained under the same user-controlled model described in Section 6 — retained until deleted by the user or parent/guardian, with immediate deletion available at any time. Parents or guardians may exercise data rights on behalf of their child by contacting us at hello@asklyte.ai.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the Service or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Contact Us / Complaints

Questions or complaints about this Privacy Policy can be sent to hello@asklyte.ai, or in writing to LYTE App, LLC, One Riverway, Suite 900, Houston, TX 77056.
